Last night we (Me & Family) were watching the match together as we generally do in the IPL season. As everyone knows in the fag end of the match MSD was on the crease trying his level best to clinch the match but he was taking time to catch his breath and regenerate strength to face another ball.
So as the match ended lots of trolling was happening and pro MSD supporters were defending him and praising his innings (Which was definitely expected out of them). Main thing out of which was even the commentators were praising MSD for his effort and dedication towards the game.
But trollers being trollers or will it be okay to say haters being haters left no stone unturned on various social media to display their affection towards MSD. Seriously people look at his effort and zeal to try and win the lost match.
A person with the age of 39 years playing such level of game and that too from last 16 years since his debut on international level and who has given us so many of good matches, insane wicketkeeping (Which was not thinkable for Indian Team Pre MSD) and super moments specially the ICC World Cup, it was seriously a sight to see for a generation. And watching the IPL don’t we think that players are also people like us who had sat in lockdown in homes without any substantial practice & insane workouts. I am sure it is bound to effect playing capabilities. Seriously trollers is 1 – 2 week of practise is enough to play in UAE heat after sitting in homes for 5 – 6 months…???
MSD didn’t deserved the trolling and memes on him, but no worries there is full confidence of many people on him for not getting effect of trolling and play as gloriously as he had played always.
Adopt, Adapt & Improve its our motto of Round Table International .Lockdown time is suppose to get us distancing socially with other people but it is definitely necessary to meet people & have fun to curb lockdown anxiety. We just need to change the way we have fun as we are doing with our work and other things. With all this quarantine we ADOPT the way of life which we were accustomed to. We ADAPTed living with this Quarantine & Lockdown across the world & Finally we IMPROVE by doing a crazy party.
Insane fun happened last night when Round table international President Tr. Sabastian and Vice President Tr. DK Singh took this initiative and did a DJ night for all the Round Table members sitting at homes. We just needed nice speakers to have fun.
A very nice idea which was supported well by our Tr. Sushein AKA DJ Sue from Delhi. He played a mix of dance numbers ranging from english to Bollywood songs specially loved the english classic playlist which he executed for 20 minutes straight.
The whole idea was executed on Zoom Video conferencing app and was shared live on Facebook as well for tablers to enjoy. Seriously guys there were more than 250 people at one point of time all enjoying at the same time. Extra ordinary times require extraordinary measures which was well displayed here by the organizers and people behind this idea. Was astonished to see the people from all over the Globe ie Canada, Estonia, Belgium, UK, Netherland to name a few.
Round table international is definitely the original facebook, a place to meet friends and like minded people. There are very less places & events where people from all around the globe come together for a collective cause here today it was having fun.
Although it would have been so better if the party was in person rather then online, no guesses of what could have been quantum of fun but as I had said earlier also sometimes we have to play the hand we have dealt.
Special Thanks to Tr. DK Singh, Tr. Sushin, Tr. Sahil Jindal & Tr. Sabastian for pulling this off royally
As we all know that lockdown is going on, trust me I had faced a lockdown of myself when I was in bedrest. But to be very frank it was not as sad as the corona lockdown is. At least I had different people to talk to and matters to look for.
Ajmer being a small town has a greater risk for Covid19 infections as the overall market is small and in 10 kms radius the whole city ends. In last 3 days we have 15 new cases of corona and it is getting uncomfortably closer to home. We were hoping to have opening of business again 2 days back but now we are facing total curfew by the administration.
This baffeling news just came in from different sources that there was a persson who was in quarantine by the government and his report was pending & before the report came, he jumped all the security and ran away from the quarantine shelter. Just a huge Question which seriously popped up in my mind is how the hell people can be so careless, its just not about your own life at stake it is lives of a everyone in a city is at a stake.
Just wishing that people take these kind of little more seriously rather then playing with lives of masses and effort of the whole system around which is looking to flatten the curve or avoid major damages.
And after this news our application for opening of business (Which is approved by the Central government) got rejected again. Although local administration & Government is definitely not wrong taking this step but it would have been a huge help to the farmers who are still to this day are in their farms trying to provide us food 3 months down the line.
Lets see if the situation gets in control soon or else its just a matter of time before a big time Corona bomb explodes and wreak havoc in our beautiful country.
It is a saying with Poker players “Sometimes you have to play the hand you have been dealt”. Although I am not much of a poker player myself but I swear by this quote don’t know why. As we know that we all are away from friends and not able to travel / meet or sit with friends except they are your very close by neighbours or building mates.
In these quarantine / lockdown times I witnessed Corona Warriors of different type. Few of our Round Table India members came forward on few groups on messaging app and started keeping daily Zoom video meetings late at night.
Seriously a boon for people who are social big time and are not able to do socialising in the lockdown. Strictly Fun, No Corona talks, No business talks. Just plain old fashioned Leg pulling and cracking jokes at the expense of others & having a good laugh at the end of day to keep the mind sane in this insane time.
I am proud to say that personally had made 4 – 5 good friends out of these daily calls and this had been an integral part of daily routine from last 15 days.
Was a little skeptical at first to join any of the call where you don’t know much of the people, but in tabling or with Tabler’s (People who are members of Round Table) there are not much of the inhibitions as the thought process is carrying a simple goal in mind. FRIENDSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, FUN.
As a group who is yet so far (in distance) and yet so close, I would definitely like to keep it as a gain in my book in the Quarantine Time Balance Sheet.
Interestingly during the extension of this lockdown easing up of districts or businesses was allowed. It was decided that few of the important sectors like agriculture & related industries can be allowed to operate citing the Covid19 conditions in the said town.
So being in automotive industry had been reading and talking with lot of people regarding the opening and functioning (How, What, When, Who) kind of things and few others. Few pointers which definitely popped up in mind is the kind of responsibility which a business-owner will be taking on ones head.
Firstly is it definitely worth it to go with so much of trouble with authorities, administration & police force firstly to get the Travel passes. We need to do a detailed Cost v/s benefit study before taking this decision.
Secondly, The customer inflow would be very minimal as automobile industry is majorly customer driven. And even after lifting of lockdown the People wont be very forthcoming / eager to buy the cars ASAP.
Thirdly, As per the News / Views & messages on our dearest Whatsapp IF any of the employee or Customer gets infected and it gets traced back to us (Us being the business owner) we will be charged by an FIR, Seizing of Office Premises for who knows how many days & Massive Quarantine of whole staff & Customer database who we interacted with.
Fourthly, Had tried applying for pass for my Agri Business but frankly I got Rejected, I tried asking the reason for rejection & no one was able to give a proper grounds for rejection. Felt like none of the authorities we ready to take responsibility for issuing the passes to masses. Even though they are not wrong on their part as the stakes are very high right now, any misstep and we will have a severe outbreak like other cities, states, countries.
Just not in favour of opening right now as being a responsible citizen is more important then being a responsible Businessman.
I had been suggested a book by couple of my Voracious reader friends & sister and when 2 of my sisters say about a particular thing I for one take it very seriously.
Had been suggested this book “IKIGAI” by Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles, Thanks to Corona lockdown i got time to finish it finally. Must say that this book had definitely made a positive impact and taught ways to live a happy life no matter come what may. So will like to share few pointers from this book although they are just bullet points and wont lead to the in-depth knowledge of the book, for that one should definitely pick this up and finish it as soon possible.
Stay active; Don’t retire.
Take it slow
Don’t fill your stomach
Surround yourself with good friends
Get in shape for your next birthday
Reconnect with nature
Live in the moment
Follow your IKIGAI
After finding more on web for IKIGAI i found that it is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being”. At one point of time we all have this thought in mind that why I am here or what is my purpose of being here. Finding that is utterly necessary to lead a happy life.
Will suggest go for the book and understand the concept and try to find your IKIGAI, trust me it is necessary for all of us.
Our dearest Prime Minister Sir requested the whole nation to do a self curfew of 14 hours in order to fight this panic of our lives corona virus. As it was on a Sunday so it wouldn’t have created much of a mess in routine life.
Brilliant decision sir, lot of scientific logic behind it as well for the prevention and to stop further spreading it. But as this was going on Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Sir Sh. Ashok Gehlot Ji gave an order of total lockdown till 31.3.2020
Now the tension started in terms of work, life imbalance, and few big questions came to my mind
How will daily wages workers go on with their lives
How will business owners pay salaries
How will business owners close the year as we are on brink of financial year end.
What about the whole economic cycle of our state. how we will cope with it…???
only two answers comes to my mind
Only Time will Tell
This too shall pass
This too shall pass but what about the cost…???
sometimes somethings are best left on God to decide and show the way.
We should help the government by doing our end of the deal…
Sometimes some instances do happen where you lose your confidence in certain things and as lots of people & books say it effects your work, life, friendships etc.
For some people confidence comes to them naturally & for some who need any life instances which gives it as well.
So a live example which happened with me only in January 2017 as my doctor has lifted off bedrest on me and said now you are ok to travel and start getting back to your daily life. So i was back to office where i found no problem talking to anyone as i knew everythem and then had been visiting me regurarly as well.
But the major challange i got was when i had to go and attend a merriage function in my hometown Ajmer. I was scared of meeting people and talking to them even, they are those people who are our family friends and we know them from last so many years and as i was out of house after a long bedrest so everyone also wanted to meet me and talk to me. I was shit scared and was not able to speak anything except ha-ji na-ji hello thank you.
That day i realised confidence is a must in life even for any basic function like talking to someone or negotiating in business or any business meeting.
Confidence cant be bought it has to be developed from one self from within. A few tips on what i had done 1. Start Small 2. Meet People in a small group. 3. Prepare beforehand for any meeting. 4. Talk to your friends, family as much as you can
Although it took me a week’s time to regain confidence but yes i am trying it to make it a permanent part of my brain. It was because of great help of My Family, My Friends & My Staff the confidence is back for good…!!!
We at Round table India’s Ajmer Chapter Ajmer Round Table’s Members went over to our adopted school at Village Aakhri in Ajmer do Donate furniture. This Furniture was promised by us at the time of inauguration of the new building. Sometimes when it is written by the gods will, then only it will happen so it happened to be a day before christmas.
We were trying to get this furniture a month back but due to some availabelity issue with the vendor & then some logistical issue, so all in all it get delayed.
So today the day finally came and our Team consisting our Tablers Bhupesh, Nitin, Tarun, Amrit, Nikket, Prashant, Karan & yours truly ME Sorabh Gehlot reached today at 11 AM to the school.
I seriously can’t describe the happiness in the kids eyes seeing the furniture and they thanked us in their own good way. School & Kids prepared some Plays, Dances & Poems. Kids even prepared Thank You cards For us (Check them in the pictures)
So after the cultural function we were talking to kids & Principal Maam about their thoughts for the school and furniture etc. The kids are so happy seeing their school now and they promised us that they will keep furniture maintained. The Principal Maam informed us that after building renovation the school strength has increased and day attendance percentage has also gone up. Thats the real impact of Round Table India.
So in all Kids were super happy, and seeing their happiness we were happy… an effort well put…
I was born on 27.9.1985 and was looking like a happy & normal child but few months in and doctors started noticing a week and anaemic kid and did some tests which were normal. In short they didn’t had a clue whats happening.
Just to give you a brief sense on what Thalassemia is, it is a blood disorder which is passed down to every generation unwillingly. For rest of the knowledge please enjoy reading google, i am pretty sure there will be better info there then me sharing here.
So, unknowingly both my parents were thalassemia carriers and i came out to be Beta Thalassemia Major “this kind of heavy name is definitely suiting my personality for sure”. Then it was detected in June of 1986 that I have Thalassemia Major and as per the doctor of that time who delivered the news I will be needing blood transfusions in every 15 days all my life and my life expectancy will be not more then 11 – 12 years. So that day my Mom & Dad took a challenge keeping me in mind that we will fight this till a solution comes through medical advancements. So from that day i was kept as a normal kid and was allowed to function as a normal kid only…
Doctor visits was routine for me and transfusions were like an additional Sunday. But as Age progressed to 16 – 17 the side effects of thalassemia started showing on thorough check ups doctor gave me severe osteoporosis and severe hormonal imbalance & some more to live with…
But with all this and proper care given by family I am able to fight and win against Thalassemia and sometimes I feel it has turned from my ailment to my strength. Since long when I can remember I was taught by my parents to stay happy and stay positive always. Maybe that’s why i don’t take much load of anything in my life.
For me life is one transfusion to other transfusion and then in the middle…
it was just recent my transfusion got free at 11 AM and I was in my office at 11.30 resuming my work… so I think after 33 years it just don’t matters much, more of a part of life kind of a thing for us.
I remember it was one post transfusion after noon approx 12.30 and i was in office with my medical tape just to cover the location where the needle was pricked for transfusion. So this guy who himself is a doctor caught this and recognised the bandage (Even after my super try to hide it under the watch) and asked, bro what happened…??? So i gave him a reply bro just got free from my transfusion and as our meeting was fixed regarding your car, So i am here for your help. And I swear the guy lost his mind and he started pressuring me to go and have rest and argued a lot for me to be not there that time.
I think, keep walking ahead spirit comes to us Thalassemia kids by birth somehow as few of other thalassemia kids who I know in Ajmer are also same type of me. So its nothing special for us.
