Quarantine Times – Tabling Fun

It is a saying with Poker players “Sometimes you have to play the hand you have been dealt”. Although I am not much of a poker player myself but I swear by this quote don’t know why. As we know that we all are away from friends and not able to travel / meet or sit with friends except they are your very close by neighbours or building mates.

In these quarantine / lockdown times I witnessed Corona Warriors of different type. Few of our Round Table India members came forward on few groups on messaging app and started keeping daily Zoom video meetings late at night.

Seriously a boon for people who are social big time and are not able to do socialising in the lockdown. Strictly Fun, No Corona talks, No business talks. Just plain old fashioned Leg pulling and cracking jokes at the expense of others & having a good laugh at the end of day to keep the mind sane in this insane time.

I am proud to say that personally had made 4 – 5 good friends out of these daily calls and this had been an integral part of daily routine from last 15 days.

Was a little skeptical at first to join any of the call where you don’t know much of the people, but in tabling or with Tabler’s (People who are members of Round Table) there are not much of the inhibitions as the thought process is carrying a simple goal in mind. FRIENDSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, FUN.

As a group who is yet so far (in distance) and yet so close, I would definitely like to keep it as a gain in my book in the Quarantine Time Balance Sheet.

Quarantine Times – To open Or to Not Open

Interestingly during the extension of this lockdown easing up of districts or businesses was allowed. It was decided that few of the important sectors like agriculture & related industries can be allowed to operate citing the Covid19 conditions in the said town.

So being in automotive industry had been reading and talking with lot of people regarding the opening and functioning (How, What, When, Who) kind of things and few others. Few pointers which definitely popped up in mind is the kind of responsibility which a business-owner will be taking on ones head.

Firstly is it definitely worth it to go with so much of trouble with authorities, administration & police force firstly to get the Travel passes. We need to do a detailed Cost v/s benefit study before taking this decision.

Secondly, The customer inflow would be very minimal as automobile industry is majorly customer driven. And even after lifting of lockdown the People wont be very forthcoming / eager to buy the cars ASAP.

Thirdly, As per the News / Views & messages on our dearest Whatsapp IF any of the employee or Customer gets infected and it gets traced back to us (Us being the business owner) we will be charged by an FIR, Seizing of Office Premises for who knows how many days & Massive Quarantine of whole staff & Customer database who we interacted with.

Fourthly, Had tried applying for pass for my Agri Business but frankly I got Rejected, I tried asking the reason for rejection & no one was able to give a proper grounds for rejection. Felt like none of the authorities we ready to take responsibility for issuing the passes to masses. Even though they are not wrong on their part as the stakes are very high right now, any misstep and we will have a severe outbreak like other cities, states, countries.

Just not in favour of opening right now as being a responsible citizen is more important then being a responsible Businessman.

Quarantine Times – Book Point of View…

I had been suggested a book by couple of my Voracious reader friends & sister and when 2 of my sisters say about a particular thing I for one take it very seriously.

Had been suggested this book “IKIGAI” by Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles, Thanks to Corona lockdown i got time to finish it finally. Must say that this book had definitely made a positive impact and taught ways to live a happy life no matter come what may. So will like to share few pointers from this book although they are just bullet points and wont lead to the in-depth knowledge of the book, for that one should definitely pick this up and finish it as soon possible.

  1. Stay active; Don’t retire.
  2. Take it slow
  3. Don’t fill your stomach
  4. Surround yourself with good friends
  5. Get in shape for your next birthday
  6. Smile More
  7. Reconnect with nature
  8. Give thanks
  9. Live in the moment
  10. Follow your IKIGAI

After finding more on web for IKIGAI i found that it is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being”. At one point of time we all have this thought in mind that why I am here or what is my purpose of being here. Finding that is utterly necessary to lead a happy life.

Will suggest go for the book and understand the concept and try to find your IKIGAI, trust me it is necessary for all of us.

Movie Review’s – Angrezi Medium

Since I watched it’s trailer few months back and the Previous Movie Hindi Medium, Its easy to say that I was looking forward to watch it as it hits the theatre but as the lockdown happened and the movie plans blew up to pieces.

But thanks to Hotstar or Disney + Hotstar for releasing the movie on an OTT Platform in a very short span of time of hitting the theatres which is good for the movie and the people waiting to watch the movie, I think it is for the First time for Bollywood movie of this magnitude.

Starcast is Good With Irfaan Khan in role of the Father & Radhika Madan in the role of the Daughter. Mainly movie revolves around these 2 characters and I must say that both of them has done total justification with their roles.

Kareena Kapoor Khan on the other hand had a very little screen time but definitly played pivotal role in the movie. I feel on the other hand Dimpal kaparia had more screen time and more interesting role then Kareena Kapoor.

The other mentionable Supporting actors were Deepak Doberial who played Irfan’s Sidekick Gopi & Ranveer shorey and Pankaj Kapoor for displaying his acting with such a flair in just 3 minutes of the screen time.

Storyline wise the movie was on point without any lags and screenplay & direction was also noteworthy and appreciable.

The movie had 4 songs which was okay as there was not much room for them in the storyline but they blended well and are good to listen. Song “Kudi Nu Nachan De” is sure to get you to listen again and dance as the beats and lyrics were just so good.

Do watch it people if haven’t watched as of now. Surely a good time spend

Quarantine Time Video Fun

As we know the Lockdown has been extented by 15 days from most of the state governments. Although it is the right step in ensuring the safety of the masses… We common janta has lot to think for in terms of passing the time as I am pretty sure the pending backlog has been finished of most of the people, so now question arises how to do a proper utilization of the time.

I have a serious case of missing my friends or as my shrink says Anthrophobia… So I just cant stay away from my friends, cousins & even my Staff Members… So today while I was on a video con-call with best of my buddies I thought of sharing my experience with you…

Video Calling Apps like WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Duo etc are a boon to people like us who are not able to travel in this lockdown are in constant touch with friends and work people. So I am surely hooked to it as it definitely helping in keeping sane & connected in these tough times.

Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Ahmedabad, jodhpur coming together to fight these tough times… braving together and being tenacious…

Being Busy… Trying to stay Sane

As we know that whole of India is in lockdown (No thanks to COVID19) we all need to stay sane in this tiering time. We all had been trying to stay sane in these troubled times so was just wanting to share with you the ways i had been coping up day to day and what some of my friends are doing to hold up.

Thanks to Netflix, Hotstar & Amazon prime all the entertainment things are taken care of some super series and movies are to be watched in these times Money Heist on Netflix is one promising to watch for, Special Ops on hotstar is a good home grown limited series i watched.

Please don’t watch too much of NEWS on TV Channels as in my point of view it gives less information and more tension to us. Day and Night speaking about CORONA is also not good. I myself had Psyological corona for a few days because of this news. Seriously guys it gives me the creeps watching COVID related news whole day so i skip it as much possible.

As for self learning and knowledge increase i had few of the pending books which was pending i am on verge of completing 3 of them. Seriously people it is the best way of passing time and increasing your knowledge at the same time. If you are light on reading material and cant shop for new books there are plenty of them available on kindle or search online i am pretty sure you can find it there.

One thing that is most important is spending time with family as most of us are too busy in our daily routine life that it gets hampered. Play board games, watch some Movie together, talk to each other, for me and my family regular SEQUENCE time & Ramayan are a daily must. And don’t forget having meals together it is a must. If you have pets like me then do invest time in training & nurturing them.

The thing that is keeping me most happy or sane is my Gaming. Regular night PUBG session or online Monopoly with friends it gives certain happiness and satisfaction of the day.

So people stay busy, keep a positive mindset and come out of this lockdown with some new skill, hobby, learning.

Quarantine Fun

I know the heading is no fun in itself but sometimes we play the cards we have been dealt with (No Thanks To Coronavirus) and that only what happened with me.

I got a whatsapp message from my friend for live round of housie otherwise know as tambola or Indian version on Bingo.

So I transferred Rs. 100 for 1 ticket via paytm. And as the payment got confirmed i got a whatsapp of my ticket and I joined a room where the whole game was about to go down.

After the normal chatter in the group we came down to the serious thing actual housie.
The numbers started popping up in the group and you have to crosscheck on ur cards as the usual game goes.

By the end of night i manage to be a winner and won Rs. 200, Which was paytm transferred within minutes.

Although keeping money aside the fun was real good and it was a well 1 hour spent in this time of lockdown.

I must say kudos to the lovely couple Ravi Bhai & Smita Bhabi for pulling it off so effortlessly and with such flair.

Thank you Smita bhabi for taking this initiative and getting us something to do in the very tiring times… looking forward for more

Guys & Girls some kind of activity is necessary to keep brains & body active in these lockdown times. And make sure more involvement of people is there but under the guidelines of our Dear Mr. PM & Social Distancing… Technology is so helpful for all these interactions with people.

Quarantine Life preparedness

So Our dearest Prime Minister Sir Sh. Narendra Modi as expected by few of my intelligent friends has imposed a 21 day countrywide lockdown in order to fight N-Cov19.

And with this we understood that shit is bad and about to turn real ugly as it is happening in Italy etc (For which by the way we are 0% ready). So we took stock of medicines in the house (As its the most important thing in my house) and then the food stuff to sustain these 21 days (in which i still have a doubt that it will get over in 21 days).

So as today was day 1 and even newspapers are discontinued from today which created a sense of boredom in my house. and i am sure in your houses as well.

The main thing in this LOCKDOWN will be keeping our routines alive and engaging the mind with some activity to pass time… as I experienced it first hand it is very easy to get bored as the whole atmosphere is giving a vibe that the time had stopped somehow.

So i to have a ton of activities planned for next few days, ton of books to finish, lot of movies & series to watch and ya most importantly lot of friends & family to catch up with…

Try to do Facetime, whatsapp video calls or anything as much possible to distract from this boredom and recharge for next few hours… trust me this works like a dream….

Corona Janta Curfew Day

Our dearest Prime Minister Sir requested the whole nation to do a self curfew of 14 hours in order to fight this panic of our lives corona virus. As it was on a Sunday so it wouldn’t have created much of a mess in routine life.

Brilliant decision sir, lot of scientific logic behind it as well for the prevention and to stop further spreading it. But as this was going on Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Sir Sh. Ashok Gehlot Ji gave an order of total lockdown till 31.3.2020

Now the tension started in terms of work, life imbalance, and few big questions came to my mind

  1. How will daily wages workers go on with their lives
  2. How will business owners pay salaries
  3. How will business owners close the year as we are on brink of financial year end.
  4. What about the whole economic cycle of our state. how we will cope with it…???

only two answers comes to my mind

  1. Only Time will Tell
  2. This too shall pass

This too shall pass but what about the cost…???

sometimes somethings are best left on God to decide and show the way.

We should help the government by doing our end of the deal…

Confidence – Why it is fickle as a fiddle

Sometimes some instances do happen where you lose your confidence in certain things and as lots of people & books say it effects your work, life, friendships etc.

For some people confidence comes to them naturally & for some who need any life instances which gives it as well.

So a live example which happened with me only in January 2017 as my doctor has lifted off bedrest on me and said now you are ok to travel and start getting back to your daily life.
So i was back to office where i found no problem talking to anyone as i knew everythem and then had been visiting me regurarly as well.

But the major challange i got was when i had to go and attend a merriage function in my hometown Ajmer. I was scared of meeting people and talking to them even, they are those people who are our family friends and we know them from last so many years and as i was out of house after a long bedrest so everyone also wanted to meet me and talk to me.
I was shit scared and was not able to speak anything except ha-ji na-ji hello thank you.

That day i realised confidence is a must in life even for any basic function like talking to someone or negotiating in business or any business meeting.

Confidence cant be bought it has to be developed from one self from within.
A few tips on what i had done
1. Start Small
2. Meet People in a small group.
3. Prepare beforehand for any meeting.
4. Talk to your friends, family as much as you can

Although it took me a week’s time to regain confidence but yes i am trying it to make it a permanent part of my brain.
It was because of great help of My Family, My Friends & My Staff the confidence is back for good…!!!
