Thank You…!!!

Many of you might be wondering why this heading and what on the earth it means. Sorry for the suspense people its World Blood Donor’s Day today as per Insta & FB. So on this day i will like to say thank you to all the people who I know and don’t know, who has donated Blood even once in their life.

As you all know that this topic is very close to my heart and many of the people’s life depends on daily basis or in emergent cases. But whatever the need maybe the fulfilment leads to dire results many a times had witnessed it personally.
I think it was Covid 1st wave April Mid and for my regular transfusions the blood bank gave a red signal that your blood group is currently not available and the overall blood and its related products are in a short supply. (I was like WTF)
Although after lot of calls here and there and few favours collected it was done a day late (but not a dollar short) and i was refuelled to keep moving for the next fortnight. (Thank you Unknown Angel).
After all this fiasco a brother (who wish not to be named) came forward along with couple of more guys to intervene the situation and act as my personal blood bank because they were of the same group and were always a text away for any time donation.

This got me thinking during that time, what would have happened if arrangement didn’t happened on time and me and my family & friend’s connections wouldn’t have worked in my favour..???
Apart from that how did the people who are not well connected faced the severe shortage of a necessary element…??? (Thanks once again Donor Angels & God)
Although we have came a long way in last couple of decades earlier people were too hesitant to come forward for blood donation and after effort of red cross and other organisations situation has improved a lot, still a long way to go in my honest opinion.

Dear readers if you have not did a blood donation till now and “IF” physically you are allowed / able to do so then it is my humble request please try doing it once (Don’t forget eating cookie & juice after it).
And for the Donor Angels thank you once again from bottom of my heart to keep doing the super work.

Adulting – Boon or Curse

Was talking over a beer with a friend couple of days back and we were just laughing over the past fun times and all the crazy shit we did over the period of time.
But guess what after 5 mins the conversation changed to the regular business, economic scenario’s, Stocks etc etc.
I noticed my past 1 year that most of the conversations had been like this,New Ideas, Work, Side work/ Passion work, Hustle, Health & ya A fine Scotch etc.

This got me thinking from where we started to where we reached in terms of conversations, meaning of fun and overall outlook of life. Then it clicked, its ADULTING.
So as per Oxford Dictionary “the practice of behaving in a way characteristic of a responsible adult, especially the accomplishment of mundane but necessary tasks.”

In short from being someone else’s responsibility to being responsible for someone or something.
With Adulting oneself is incharge of 99% of life’s decisions and when in business the effects of others actions lands on you and you are incharge to lead them through the betterment which is eventually self betterment as well. In short “THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU”.

One is allowed to screwup in adulting but you are incharge of own actions, someone else wont be coming to clean up ur mess, wether it is Business balance sheet, or Life Balance Sheet. We only are responsible for everything.

Sometimes I miss being a 25 YO kid who was just figuring things out and dabbling the idea of adulting and frankly it is 10 years and suddenly Adulting has hit me and damn I must say it has hit me hard. Still all the preparation of Adulting has not lead to any substantial results. It is an Extempore Exam which just never ends.
But in terms of learning, this whole Adulting has been a great teacher and everyday something new falls on your as a Problem which you solve and learn something and move ahead in life.

To all my readers who are below 23 please enjoy as much u can & the people who are sailing on a same boat of Adulting as me “KEEP FIGHTING” and Excel at Adulting..

Please do let me know it is a Boon or a Curse in comments, In my honest opinion it is a glass half full kind of situation. Boon for me though…!!!

Post Wheelie First Flight Travel

So it was kind of a bummer life took a turn in 2016 (don’t know for good or bad depending on the glass example I’ll say for Good for me though) and I landed on a wheelie for my daily movements.

But ya life was moving on and i was still travelling a lot by my car so it is good for me, But there was an invisible fear or hitch on travelling via flights because lots of ifs and buts are always there and an additional responsibility of carrying a motorised wheelchair.

I got an opportunity to travel to the City of Pearls for some Round Table Event, travelling how was a this or that option This being Car or That being flight coz it was easy as hell.
So after long discussions with Indigo Airlines post seeing on their website that they allow motorised wheelchairs to be carried via check in luggage without any extra charge in all domestic routes. (Kudos Indigo for a super service for differently abled travellers)

So all said and done and after ticket bookings and all that we were ready to fly. now there was one small request of indigo people that sir you need to reach our checkin counters minimum 3 hrs before. Oh damn my flight from Jaipur was of 5 AM.
So there were we scared out of our minds at 2 AM in the middle of night. And the whole wheelchair transfer + checkin + security + mandatory Starbucks happened swiftly with 1 hr to spare. The transfer from my wheelchair to Airlines Aisle wheelchair at the time of checkin was very easy and comfortable. (Take a bow Indigo Jaipur staff you guys played well). So after that it was just and easy drive in their bus till flight, easy boarding and simple transfer to the seat.

Upon arrival a guy was waiting on the aircraft gate for all other passengers to disembark so he can come with Aisle wheelchair and do my de-boarding. i found my wheelchair near luggage carousel only getting dropped off by a guy who got it down from the Aircraft cargo hold, to my surprise there was no damage to the wheelchair, it was kept safely. So all luggage check and we got our cab and on our way.

But after 3 days when I landed back to the Jaipur airport It was Sunday 8th May 2022. So i was under the impression that what happened with me when i was disembarking the guy will come and take me. But their cleaning crew entered and some handler of indigo who was overseeing the turnaround of the aircraft for the next flight asked to de- board i told him I am waiting for a wheelchair then this guy replied me Sir you can find it at the gate. I have to tell him thrice that I need an aisle wheelchair (such a pathetic service). Then this guy says me sorry and arranges in after 5 mins and i am on my way.

Guess what I was under an impression that aisle wheelchairs have been noted on tickets at the time of booking and all necessary arrangements made so the goof up which happened in Jaipur doesn’t happens. but no systems are there u just need to tell them once you land or something. (Damn Indigo Upgrade your systems).

All in all I had good flights barring a small incident at Jaipur airport (I am sure it could have been avoided if proper notification could have been done beforehand) got confidence that I can fly domestically with my own wheelchair in the cargo hold.

Successful trip + Successful test flights = Happy Me

Quarantine times – Round Table Party

Adopt, Adapt & Improve its our motto of Round Table International .Lockdown time is suppose to get us distancing socially with other people but it is definitely necessary to meet people & have fun to curb lockdown anxiety. We just need to change the way we have fun as we are doing with our work and other things. With all this quarantine we ADOPT the way of life which we were accustomed to. We ADAPTed living with this Quarantine & Lockdown across the world & Finally we IMPROVE by doing a crazy party.

Insane fun happened last night when Round table international President Tr. Sabastian and Vice President Tr. DK Singh took this initiative and did a DJ night for all the Round Table members sitting at homes. We just needed nice speakers to have fun.

A very nice idea which was supported well by our Tr. Sushein AKA DJ Sue from Delhi. He played a mix of dance numbers ranging from english to Bollywood songs specially loved the english classic playlist which he executed for 20 minutes straight.

The whole idea was executed on Zoom Video conferencing app and was shared live on Facebook as well for tablers to enjoy. Seriously guys there were more than 250 people at one point of time all enjoying at the same time. Extra ordinary times require extraordinary measures which was well displayed here by the organizers and people behind this idea. Was astonished to see the people from all over the Globe ie Canada, Estonia, Belgium, UK, Netherland to name a few.

Round table international is definitely the original facebook, a place to meet friends and like minded people. There are very less places & events where people from all around the globe come together for a collective cause here today it was having fun.

Although it would have been so better if the party was in person rather then online, no guesses of what could have been quantum of fun but as I had said earlier also sometimes we have to play the hand we have dealt.

Special Thanks to Tr. DK Singh, Tr. Sushin, Tr. Sahil Jindal & Tr. Sabastian for pulling this off royally

Looking forward for more online parties soon.

Quarantine Times – Tabling Fun

It is a saying with Poker players “Sometimes you have to play the hand you have been dealt”. Although I am not much of a poker player myself but I swear by this quote don’t know why. As we know that we all are away from friends and not able to travel / meet or sit with friends except they are your very close by neighbours or building mates.

In these quarantine / lockdown times I witnessed Corona Warriors of different type. Few of our Round Table India members came forward on few groups on messaging app and started keeping daily Zoom video meetings late at night.

Seriously a boon for people who are social big time and are not able to do socialising in the lockdown. Strictly Fun, No Corona talks, No business talks. Just plain old fashioned Leg pulling and cracking jokes at the expense of others & having a good laugh at the end of day to keep the mind sane in this insane time.

I am proud to say that personally had made 4 – 5 good friends out of these daily calls and this had been an integral part of daily routine from last 15 days.

Was a little skeptical at first to join any of the call where you don’t know much of the people, but in tabling or with Tabler’s (People who are members of Round Table) there are not much of the inhibitions as the thought process is carrying a simple goal in mind. FRIENDSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, FUN.

As a group who is yet so far (in distance) and yet so close, I would definitely like to keep it as a gain in my book in the Quarantine Time Balance Sheet.

Stay Indoors, Stay Safe

Confidence – Why it is fickle as a fiddle

Sometimes some instances do happen where you lose your confidence in certain things and as lots of people & books say it effects your work, life, friendships etc.

For some people confidence comes to them naturally & for some who need any life instances which gives it as well.

So a live example which happened with me only in January 2017 as my doctor has lifted off bedrest on me and said now you are ok to travel and start getting back to your daily life.
So i was back to office where i found no problem talking to anyone as i knew everythem and then had been visiting me regurarly as well.

But the major challange i got was when i had to go and attend a merriage function in my hometown Ajmer. I was scared of meeting people and talking to them even, they are those people who are our family friends and we know them from last so many years and as i was out of house after a long bedrest so everyone also wanted to meet me and talk to me.
I was shit scared and was not able to speak anything except ha-ji na-ji hello thank you.

That day i realised confidence is a must in life even for any basic function like talking to someone or negotiating in business or any business meeting.

Confidence cant be bought it has to be developed from one self from within.
A few tips on what i had done
1. Start Small
2. Meet People in a small group.
3. Prepare beforehand for any meeting.
4. Talk to your friends, family as much as you can

Although it took me a week’s time to regain confidence but yes i am trying it to make it a permanent part of my brain.
It was because of great help of My Family, My Friends & My Staff the confidence is back for good…!!!

Felt like Santa Clause

We at Round table India’s Ajmer Chapter Ajmer Round Table’s Members went over to our adopted school at Village Aakhri in Ajmer do Donate furniture.
This Furniture was promised by us at the time of inauguration of the new building.
Sometimes when it is written by the gods will, then only it will happen so it happened to be a day before christmas.

We were trying to get this furniture a month back but due to some availabelity issue with the vendor & then some logistical issue, so all in all it get delayed.

So today the day finally came and our Team consisting our Tablers Bhupesh, Nitin, Tarun, Amrit, Nikket, Prashant, Karan & yours truly ME Sorabh Gehlot reached today at 11 AM to the school.

I seriously can’t describe the happiness in the kids eyes seeing the furniture and they thanked us in their own good way.
School & Kids prepared some Plays, Dances & Poems.
Kids even prepared Thank You cards For us (Check them in the pictures)

So after the cultural function we were talking to kids & Principal Maam about their thoughts for the school and furniture etc. The kids are so happy seeing their school now and they promised us that they will keep furniture maintained.
The Principal Maam informed us that after building renovation the school strength has increased and day attendance percentage has also gone up. Thats the real impact of Round Table India.

So in all Kids were super happy, and seeing their happiness we were happy… an effort well put…

My First Travel For Tabling

So as many of you know i am part of a wonderful organisation called Round Table International whose India Chapter is called as Round Table India.

So after my long bedrest (why, when, what later) it was my first travel to Delhi for a family holiday. As it was a holiday I was free and as told about my friends for the power of tabling in terms of cooperation & friendship i thought why not give it a try and meet few Fellow Tablers from Delhi so i got few numbers from my table friends here and started calling…

One lead to other and after 2 calls i got a call from Area Chairman of that year, heyy bro we all are going to Agra for our Area AGM why don’t you also join us it will be great fun and you can meet the whole area in one shot, Oh and ya Mika is coming to perform in our AGM’s party…

I was sold to this idea the instance i heard his name, so i asked him can i confirm you in 30 mins. he said bro no problem please take your time and do lemme know so i can tell the organizer’s for your proper arrangements and he connected me to one of the member of the organizing committee.

After 2 days of holidaying in Delhi with family i embarked alone for this journey with my driver bhaiya & Helper, The whole way i was just thinking of one thing “I dont know anyone there, wont i be bored” “Wont it look awkward” etc etc

But the moment i entered the hotel and went to the help desk to get a head way and introduce myself after that brothers started coming in to meet, chat laugh.. i was invited for sessions etc so all in all i had minimum 20 friends in 10 mins of time and it was not an outsider feel at all and superb fun filled next 3 days & memories of a lifetime.

Sometimes people ask me why Round Table, Isn’t it a waste of time…??? Definitely NO.
Right now i have so many friends in places or cities or countries i had not imagined. Where ever I go it is brotherhood everywhere and always…!!! And best part for me, Help is always less then a call away…

My Work My Life My Everything

Just to give you a context about why I wrote the headline that I wrote. I completed my college in 2006 and went straight to business. Learning the ropes from the master himself “My Father” I started one small venture of mine, details about that some other day. So we were looking to expand/ grow business-wise and came across this.

We started our Ford Venture in 2009 for me the journey started way before that… the whole process started in late 2007’s when the company representative visited us with my uncle from Jaipur who is also a ford dealer there.

The proposals were exchanged and we got final round of meeting with ford india’s bosses at that time in chennai and we were given a sign off for a setup go ahead.

After a few ups and downs health wise with me and dad battled depression because of that, but we came out with the flying colours and from 1st April 2009 we did a soft opening as there were few sign-offs pending from Ford Motor Company USA’s side. Without that we couldn’t have the official inauguration. So we use to get cars from our co-dealers and sell them during soft opening days to get in sync with the systems & processes.

On 31.10.2009 we finally did a grand inauguration and were officially a dealer for ford . We were really waiting for Ford’s New small car “FIGO”. A mass segment in which Ford was foraying into. And boy in 2010 when the vehicle launched it paved the way for dealership’s success.

As per my father the key to run a great & happy business is the people, So in our dealership the staff is not considered staff and as an owner of the business. The morale of the people & their enthusiasm towards work just quadruples.

My dealership has taught me many things, still teaching a lot daily, Has made me travelled places, Has given confidence which was missing in me some years back. And most importantly given me a whole different thought process and an entrepreneurial spirit “Yes We Can”…

We celebrate 31st October every year as birthday of Gehlot Ford where the whole staff comes together for a cake ceremony and sharing stories of day 1 – the 31.10.2009.

Will like to take this opportunity to thank my staff for their support and unmatched dedication. Our customers for showing their trust & Confidence in us over the years. And Ford India for being with us in hard times & laughing with us in Happy times… Truely a family waali Feeling…

Sharing some New some Old pics for a treat…

Round Table Event Diary – Dandiya Raas 2019

We at Round Table India & Ladies Circle India did our annual fundraiser event “Dandiya Raas 2019” for the 4th year in a row. The main purpose behind this event is to raise funds for making schools for underprivileged kids.

On the 4th edition of our event we managed to raise approx Rs. 8 Lakhs which is a good amount and it gave us the much needed publicity for our work as well.

The event was attended by more then 800 people from Ajmer & surrounding places.

The main attraction was our DJ DJ Cheshtha Khurrana & Percussionist from Delhi, they really made people’s foot tap from their tunes & medley. As per the public feedback the food served there was tasty and they liked the quality of it.

For the kids who were too young to enjoy the dandiya we have kept Kids Zone with lots of activities and prizes for them.

Keeping in mind the Go Green element of Round Table India & Ladies circle India we didnt kept any of the firecrackers for the event and no disposable Crockery Items, there was no waste creation from this event as actual crockery was used.

The event was made hugely successful because of our Sponsors and the Team. Team here playing the pivotal role as planning from scratch, arranging sponsors and managing the event, generally with the event of this magnitude we need a team of minimum 40 people to pull of successfully but here we 18 members of Round Table India’s Ajmer chapter & 5 members of Ladies circle India’s Ajmer chapter managed this huge feat.
The main goal which is bonding, synergy & harmony among members is tested at events like these.

Looking forward to make our signature event even more grand for the next year and utilise funds raised from this event at a good place soon.
